Job description:

I am recruiting a private chef for household situated in St Andrews. Working for a very high net-worth, formal family in a large new residence.

Looking for someone who specifically specialises in Indian fine-dining cuisine. Ideally you will have either Michelin or multiple-rosette experience.

The family are very formal so are looking for experienced staff who’ve worked in similar environments before. You will be part of a large team but you will be the Sole Chef, as such you’ll be responsible for all menu planning and kitchen maintenance.

The family would like someone who specialises in Indian cuisine (especially south Indian cuisines like Dosa), however, they also love Italian and Chinese food, so you should have a broad knowledge of all cuisines including desserts/pastry and bread making.

You will be assisted by the Housekeepers with food prep, so you should be used to managing others in the kitchen. The house will be a full-time residence for one person, however, other family members will also be staying intermittently.

Responsibilities:
• Creating a meat and seafood free menu plan (egg is ok)
• Food shopping
• Food preparation and menu planning
• Management of assistants in the kitchen
• Adhering to any dietary requirements
• Providing well-presented and delicious food daily
• Providing food for dinner parties and events

The ideal candidate:
• 3 years’ experience working in a similar role
• Formal training
• Fluent in English
• Specialising in South Indian cuisine

This is a good opportunity for someone to step in to the private chef industry if you have recently been working in restaurants or hotels.

Interviews will be conducted in the first instance via Skype and then would look to hold second stage interviews in London.

This position is available from the middle of August for the right person.
