Job description:

Habitat Cafe is a multiple national award winning eatery with a quality-focused approach to speciality drinks and food. Now in its fifth year of successful growth, and recently featured by The Scotsman as one of the top 5 places for coffee in Scotland, the business has recently been granted a premises license and is poised for its next phase
including evening opening and an extended food menu.

We are looking for an experienced, friendly, high energy chef to join our small team. Reporting to and working alongside our hands-on proprietor, you will have overall operational control of the kitchen and will help select, train and supervise your support staff as and when seasonal demand requires. Peak months are very fast paced,
whilst off-peak times are very quiet. We are therefore seeking a self-motivated person who will use their time well to develop suitable new menu offerings when opportunities arise, grabbing the chance to experiment with exciting ingredients, cooking methods and food trends,as well as help out in other areas when the business requires.

We have a well equipped kitchen which can do so much more, so we would love to speak with a chef with a genuine interest in two areas:

1) picking up, running with and improving our existing daytime kitchen operation; and
2) helping turn ideas into reality by creating interesting, delicious daytime and evening meals pitched at the growing casual dining market.

The ideal candidate will understand the complexities of The Highland’s highly seasonal market, have experience with preparing and serving high quality food in a fast-paced environment, and must be a friendly, cooperative team player.

Must live within easy commutable distance of Aberfeldy.
