Salary:£24,000 per annum negotiable paid weekly, plus tips Bonuses available

Hours:40-45
Days:5 days from 7 split shifts (every 4th weekend off)
Holidays:Statutory (28 days p/a)

Covers:Lunch: 40; Dinner: 70; Breakfast: no breakfast cover needed; Functions: none
Food type:Up market bar food plus specials - lots of fresh fish and seafood.
Full-time chefs:3 plus kitchen porters

Job description:

Small but very busy town centre hotel, with a growing reputation for excellence, looking for a head Chef to maintain and expand on our current trading levels. We pride ourselves on offering our guests great quality fresh food in a comfortable and relaxed environment with a focus on fresh fish dishes. We aim to continue expanding our current trading levels, while maintaining quality and service.

Job Role - Head Chef

The role will be to ensure that the kitchen operates smoothly and to manage the profitability by providing consistently excellent food and exceeding guests service expectations.

The ideal candidate will:
Be able to create a fun atmosphere, for both staff and customers
Have bags of energy and drive along with new ideas for ways to increase sales and promote the business
Lead by example
Develop a guest focused team to their full potential
Key management and development skills
Hands on experience of preparing fresh food on a cook to order basis, within a hotel / restaurant background - and be prepared to cook in a fast paced environment while maintaining the highest quality.
An ambitious individual, driven by 100% customer satisfaction.
Knowledge of the highest standards of Health & Safety, hand in hand with Hygiene, and be able to implement this into the work place.
Be a team player with the desire to develop yourself and those around you.
A desire to excel in everything you do.
Excellent stock and profit control.
