Head Chef, 11 bedroom hotel near Dunoon, Argyll and the Islands

Salary:£25,000 - £27,500 per annum paid monthly with tips.
Duration:Permanent
Hours:45 - 50 per week
Days:5 days from 7 - mixed shifts (work 3 - 4 breakfast shifts per week)
Holidays:Statutory 28 days - closed for the Xmas week but open for Hogmanay
Bedrooms:11
Covers:Lunch: to 20; Dinner: to 30; Breakfast: to 22; Functions: to 30
Food type:Quality bar meals and upmarket restaurant - using the freshest of local produce, known for seafood
Full-time chefs:1 plus part time 2nd chef to cover 2 days off and help at weekends, full time 2nd Chef to be taken on as the season progresses
Accommodation:Meals, accommodation and WIFI free of charge - own room with shared shower room
Job description:

We are looking for a Head Chef or experienced Sous Chef who is looking to move up, to run the kitchen in a 3 star, 11 bedroom hotel in Tighnabruaich, located on the Kyles of Bute, just 23 miles from Dunoon.

The hotel has a Visit Scotland Taste Award and are looking to achieve more accolades during 2018 and beyond, we hope our new Head Chef will have the passion and motivation to help us achieve this.

As Head Chef you will be responsible for the day to day running of the kitchen including ordering, stock control, kitchen hygiene and meeting current legislation.

Currently running a bar menu and a restaurant menu and make everything from scratch with fresh, local and in season produce including plenty of seafood for which we already have a good reputation. As Head Chef you will have full input to menu design, being able to show your style and flair.

A privately owned hotel, with hands on owners, the team is small in number but friendly and has a great teamwork attitude, they all sit down for staff meals together on duty or not.

There is public transport to the village although being able to drive will give you freedom to enjoy the surrounding area on your days off.
