Job description:

We are expanding our operation at the famous Sligachan Hotel and Seumas’ Bar (A Whiskey Bar of the Year) on the Isle of Skye. We are currently recruiting for an experienced head chef who can lead our existing team and have accountability for the day-to-day running of the kitchen including health and safety, hygiene and cleanliness, staff training and management plus menu design, ordering and stock control.

We are looking for a talented chef who can help us further realise our vision for Seumas’ Bar to become one of Scotland’s best Gastro Pubs. Sligachan Hotel is located in one of the most beautiful locations in the world and is a hugely popular establishment with a reputation for great food. It’s for these reasons that we need someone who has a proven track record and experience of delivering high quality food at high volume. We have two state of the art kitchens to serve Seumas' Bar and Hotel guests which are joined by a walkway. We expect you to maximise the use of local produce where possible and manage stock and menus effectively in order to work within budgets and achieve reasonable GP’s.

In this role we aim to empower the right candidate to effectively lead, train, coach and mentor their team, be creative and run the kitchen to a highly professional level. We want you to share our passion for delivering high quality dishes that aim to please and excite every customer who chooses to dine with us.

Passion, creativity, leadership and excellent team working skills are essential. Previous experience with a proven track record required, showing a knowledge of budgets and GP’s.
