Job description:

The Mainstreet Trading Company is situated in the beautiful Scottish Borders village of St Boswells.

Experienced full time chef required for busy kitchen in award winning Café, Bookshop & Deli.

Based in St Boswells, 5 miles from Tweedbank train station (terminus of the new Borders Railway), we are a small dedicated team who pride ourselves on the quality of our food and the customer experience we offer.

Mainstreet is a destination business well known for our knowledgeable friendly staff. Each part of the business – café/books/deli – takes inspiration from the other, with our ‘Cookbook of the Month’ informing the menu.

We are looking for someone capable of being the senior team member in the kitchen.

You will be responsible for the ordering stock, maintaining health and safety and also training, health and hygiene and HACCP.

You will also have input into menus.

We also have a deli which has strong local focus which is combined with international flavours.

The working hours would be 8.45 - 5.45 and we are closed Mondays.
