Days:6 days per week looking to go to 5 when fully staffed

Full-time chefs:4 plus kitchen porter (looking to build to 6)

Job description:

Momentai Bar & Restaurant is located on the waterfront of Sai Kung, a bustling seaside town located 45mins North of the main city of Kowloon & HK Island. Momentai Bar & Restaurant is independently owned by Sai Kung locals, who wanted to create a relaxed waterfront environment unique from other restaurants in Hong Kong. You’ll find high quality food freshly made on-site, an expansive bar that includes an impressive range of HK Craft Beers, and a bunch of activities for both adults & families to enjoy. All of this is served by an experience team who only offer genuine, friendly, and accommodating service.

Although relatively new, our reputation for excellent service and quality food and drink has been quickly but firmly established, and due to high critical acclaim and an increased awareness and buzz around us, we have seen a vast increase in business and are looking to extend our full time staff.

We are currently looking for a Demi/Chef de Partie. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates looking to gain experience in a fast paced restaurant environment and working with international and varied cultures.

The Job Your Duties will include: • Ensure that all stocks are kept under optimum conditions
• Ensure that all mise-en-place is always freshly prepared on time
• Ensure that all dishes are being prepared to the correct recipe, quantity and presentations
• Ensure section is being kept clean and tidy at all times
• Ensure all policies, procedures, standards and guidelines are carefully adhered to
• Ensure that any anticipated shortages are communicated promptly to the head chef
• Maintaining discipline of all staff under your control, whilst treating them fairly and with courtesy
• Managing the development and supervision of the commis chef on the section, ensuring they are fully trained and understand their duties
• Maintain a detailed knowledge of the full menu and be able to explain dishes
• To deputise in head chef's absence and take charge of the kitchen when directed
• Stay updated on the latest menu and recipe development

• Have 1-2 years experience in a working kitchen environment (work placement experience will be considered)
