Prices

16th April 2023

Chefs In Scotland has been offering the same 3 services since 2001 which is when our first website went live, 3 years after starting out on the journey of self-employment.
We had placed our first relief chef a year earlier in 2000, up to Tongue Hotel. We didn’t charge for that first one.
By the end of the year 2000 we were charging £50 plus VAT per week for a temp placement, up to a maximum of 6 weeks. The early rates for temp chefs were £8 to £8.50 per hour which was quite a lot back then.
Not a huge amount has changed since, we offer adverts on the CIS website, where candidates can apply directly to the jobs.
We also can try to source chefs for you if the job is doable.
For All New Relief jobs registered from tomorrow, Monday the 17th of April, the rates payable directly to the Relief Chef are going up until the end of October 2023.
Rates are £18 for Chef de partie
£20 for Sous Chef
And £22 for Head Chef.
The rate that CIS charges is also going up for new jobs registered from tomorrow, Monday the 17th of April. We will charge £70 plus VAT per week to a maximum of 10 weeks.
The price of adverts and permanent placements will remain the same for now.
Lowland Brewing, which is mostly owned by CIS, did it’s last brew yesterday, a new one called “Lockerbie 80”
It will be wound down and it’s last day of trading will be the 30th of June 2023.
Cheers
Michael
