Salary:£19,500 to £24,395 per annum, depending on experience. Contributory pension scheme - club gives 5.25% as long as employee contributes at least 1% and we are keen to have all employees contribute at least 4% to meet future government targets. Share of tips from the bar and catering department. Uniforms supplied and laundered. Free Golf Club membership including members loyalty card.

Job description:

The Royal Dornoch Golf Club Championship Course is the 4th best Golf course in the world. We are situated in town Dornoch situated 40 miles north of Inverness.


Responsible To: Food & Beverage Manager

Responsible For: N/A

Summary of Job: As part of the bar and restaurant staff you will be expected to make an effective contribution to the turnover and profitability of the facility through the efficient service of food, drinks and all other items that are for sale. You will establish and maintain a friendly, courteous and professional relationship with customers that will encourage them to patronise the facility on a regular basis.

Main Responsibilities:
• To sell drink, food and all other products to customers quickly and efficiently with an emphasis on pleasant, courteous and professional service.
• To provide a warm welcome and cheerful farewell to every customer thus enhancing the reputation of the Club and the overall “Royal Dornoch Experience”.
• To prepare the bar and restaurant for service ensuring that the customers find it clean and well-ordered at all times.
• To maintain the cleanliness of both the working area and the equipment used.
• To handle cash, issue change, use a cash register and loyalty card system in accordance with club policy.
• To maintain high standards of personal hygiene, dress and general appearance in accordance with Club policy.
• To observe, as applicable
Licensing Laws
Security arrangements
Procedures and instructions relating to fire, accidents and complaints.
Hygiene and Health & Safety Regulations in force.
The law regarding Passing Off. (when a customer asks for a particular brand which you do not stock you must make it clear you are only able to offer an alternative.)
• To carry out any other tasks and duties that may be required of you from time to time.


Required Standards:
Knowledge and understanding of all legislation impacting on the bar and catering provision e.g. licensing, health & safety and hygiene etc.
