Job description:

Our pub is on the beautiful west-coast, at the head of Loch Creran, with incredible views across to Mull. We have a real focus on local produce, both meat and seafood, and our menu reflects the passion of the whole team. We have a small core menu, and so we're looking for a Sous who can assist our Head Chef in the creation of exciting daily specials, using the amazing producers in the immediate area.
Our beautiful terrace lends itself to outside dining, and our waterfront location means that fish & seafood feature heavily on our menu. Although we offer a Scottish menu, with a bar stocked almost entirely with Scottish products, we are very definitely not a 'traditional' Scottish bar and we're looking for someone who understands the direction that modern Scottish cuisine can take.
We make the majority of menu items from scratch and experience in all areas of kitchen service is definitely required; you'll be expected to take a shot running the pass, stove and larder section throughout the working week.
Functions are starting to return to the area after the last 2 years and, alongside our regular menu, we're looking to offer our tour groups a slightly updated version of Scottish hospitality. We also hope to begin catering more for weddings and other important occasions this year, so experience in banquet catering would be an advantage.
Our kitchen team are friendly, enthusiastic and hard-working, the ethos is positive and the kitchen even has a view over the loch (kayaking and swimming definitely encouraged)!
