Job description:

Alfa Leisureplex Group has an opportunity for a Second Chef to join the team at our Croit Anna Hotel, Fort William.

What is the role:
The primary role of the Second Chef will be to act as second in command, working in a Hotel kitchen offering a table d’hote menu on a 7 day cycle system. This means the menu is repeated each week making the majority of starters, mains and sweets in-house using as much fresh produce as is available. You will work with suppliers that are already in place, and assist with budget control and hygiene standards.
As a Second Chef you will work with a small kitchen team. You will have responsibility for cooking and sending out excellent food, whilst taking a lead role in the completion of temperature control records, cleaning schedules and other related company administration documents will be required. You will also support the team with the weekly stock take, food ordering and stores security.
Working Hours
As a Second Chef you will be required to work circa 42 hours per week over 6 days working 41 weeks of the year and the rate of pay for this role is £24,000 per annum, paid monthly over 12 months with 28 days annual leave.
There is also the option to live-in the Hotel allowing you time to explore the local area, enjoying the beautiful outdoors in this idyllic location close to Ben Nevis.

Essential Skills:
• Excellent communication skills
• Previous experience in a similar role within the kitchen
• High level of food hygiene and health and safety knowledge
• Stock rotation, labelling and cost control experience
