Salary:£9.52 to £11.61 per hour, depending on experience. Contributory pension scheme - club gives 5.25% as long as employee contributes at least 1% and we are keen to have all employees contribute at least 4% to meet future government targets. Share of tips from the bar and catering department. Uniforms supplied and laundered. Free Golf Club membership including members loyalty card.

Job description:

The Royal Dornoch Golf Club Championship Course is the 4th best Golf course in the world. We are situated in town Dornoch situated 40 miles north of Inverness.


Summary of Job:
To assist the Chef on duty with storage, preparation and cooking of all food items whilst adhering to all health and food safety legislation. Manage the particular station that you have been allocated while helping the commis chefs gain experience and skills. In conjunction with this, ensuring the image and traditions of the Club are being upheld and promoted within the area of responsibility.


Main Responsibilities:
• Help with the preparation and service of menu items, functions and staff meals

• Managing the performance of the station that you have been allocated to ensure high levels of productivity and low wastage.

• Suggest and participate in discussions on dishes and menus.

• Accept deliveries, ensure stock is controlled & rotated and ensure minimum kitchen wastage and to communicate when stock is running low

• Follow the cleaning schedules for the kitchen, and to clean the areas and sections as directed

• Working with all of the catering management team to ensure the kitchen is operating effectively and efficiently.

• Enforcing kitchen, personal and food hygiene policies within the kitchen.

• To carry out any other reasonable duties or instructions

Required Standards:
Have a relevant qualification in food preparation and cooking, whilst working towards a higher qualification. Knowledge and understanding of all legislation impacting on the catering provision e.g. licensing, health & safety and hygiene etc.
