Holidays:Statutory (28 days p/a)
Bedrooms:12 on site chalets, 20 B&B rooms

Job description:

Loch Insh Watersports sits in the middle of the Highlands over-looking scenic Loch Insh. With 12 chalets onsite, 20 B&B rooms, water sports in summer and skiing in the winter, we are open and busy all year round.

We are looking for a enthusiastic chef to join our kitchen team. You will have relevant kitchen experience and be able to produce quality meals and ensure a high standard of hygiene is met.

You will get free use of the water-sports facilities during time off.

Full uniform is provided.

This is a permanent all-year round position.

With the summer fast approaching, we now have an exciting opportunity for a senior chef to join our team in the Boathouse Restaurant here at Loch Insh Outdoor Centre.

Working 5 shifts and approx 40/45 hours per week, your main duties will include:

Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes for the general public and schools groups
Helping the head chef to develop new dishes and menus
Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins
Train and develop Kitchen staff to adhere to and work within company guidelines and to take ownership and responsibility for their actions.
Liaising regularly with the Restaurant & Operations Manager and attend weekly HOD meetings for information planning.
Employing and inducting new kitchen staff in line with company HR procedures and promoting and organising continuous professional development for the whole team.
Completing training records and training logs and forwarding copies to the Office.
Taking the lead to ensure aesthetics and standards of cleanliness in the kitchen are high at all times and that staff team are well presented in appropriate work clothing.
Setting high standards for food preparation, service and presentation.
Negotiating with suppliers to obtain best quality goods for the best price, with the emphasis as much as possible on Scottish and local.
Plan and review maintenance of all kitchen equipment. Reporting any machinery malfunctions to the Maintenance team or replacing any items which are beyond repair and which are budgeted for.
Produce and maintain a 6 week working rota for all kitchen staff
