Job description:

The Chester Hotel is a privately owned 55 bedroom hotel situated in Aberdeen. We are looking for a head chef to join our team and work alongside our executive chef.

As Head Chef you must have a strong kitchen background. Experience in kitchens up to minimum of 2-3AA Rosettes and Michelin exposure is ideal although not essential. You should be really passionate about your work and able to bring creative ideas and lead the team, presenting food to the highest standard at all times. The right candidate will also be able to take a proactive approach within the kitchen, ensuring the team always strive for more.

Your primary role will be to manage the preparation, cooking, and presentation of the dishes. You must already have considerable experience as it is an important role that comes with a lot of freedom.

The requirements are:
• Enthusiasm and positive attitude
• Be very knowledgeable in his/her speciality
• Able to give orders
• Able to carry out orders handed down from Executive Chef
• Ability to work under pressure
• Proven knowledge of budgets and GP levels
• Previous experience of 5 star environment would be an advantage
• Ability to interact with guests
• Have excellent leadership and communication skill
• Ensuring that all kitchen stations deliver to the required standard with the support of the Executive Head Chef
• Assisting the Executive Head Chef with financial planning and budgeting
• Ensuring that health and safety, food hygiene and fire prevention regulations are adhered to
• Assisting in food ordering, purchasing and rotating
• Training and developing staff
• Have good knowledge of pastry preparation
