Salary:£18,000 - £22,000 depending on experience paid monthly plus tips - 3 months off over winter which you are paid for. Private health care, company pension and 20% discount for staff at the hotel including food, drink and accommodation.

Job description:

The Harbour Inn is a 12 bedroom hotel situated in the centre of Bowmore, Islay's main town. We are part of Bowmore which is the 3rd largest drinks company in the world.

We are looking for a chef de partie to join the team.

The right candidate will:

- Take responsibility for various sections within the kitchen, as required.
- Preparing and presenting food to a high standard.
- Requisitions for dry store goods.
- Stock rotation.
- Ensure kitchen areas are clean and tidy at all times.
- Take responsibility for strict control of hygiene in the kitchen and monitoring food preparation areas.
- Co-operate with the Head Chef to ensure that where applicable there is adequate provision of all cleaning materials.
- Ensure there is no cross-contamination of cooked and raw foods.
- Carry out training and document according to Company standard.
- Coach team members to ensure acceptable standards of performance are achieved.
- Communicate effectively with Kitchen team members and positively with other departments in the hotel, as appropriate.
- Work efficiently and effectively ensuring waste is minimised and costs are kept to a minimum.
- Have a Can do attitude.
- Strong customer focus.
- Knowledge of whisky and wine advantageous.

You get three months off over winter two weeks which is holiday and the remainder of days to be taken throughout the year.

The position can be seasonal and is available immediately but ideally we would look for someone to join us on a permanent basis.
