Front Of House, Hotel Manager - HG Group, Argyll and the Islands

Experienced Hotel Manager required for a 3 star Hotel with 50 bedrooms, two restaurants, Bar and Cafe in Coastal Tourist Town of Oban in the West Coast of Scotland.

The successful applicant is to be responsible for the daily management of the hotel and its team of staff and to make sure all customers have a positive experience during their stay. We are looking for someone to be inventive and provide help in marketing the business via social media and other sources. A good organiser and someone with eye to detail, supervising and keeping up the high standard of cleaning throughout the hotel, ensuring that the team and the hotel adhere to all H&S and Food Safety Standards.

We will consider Duty or Assistant Managers who are eager and keen to learn the ropes of Hotel Management and taking that next step as a Hotel Manager.

Hotel Manager Job Duties

Managing staff and overseeing schedules to make sure all departments have enough employees to provide assistance to guests
Delivering the service strategy and culture across all operational departments
Overseeing beverage and food operations
Working with the team to promote a safe atmosphere for guests and staff
Recruitment, training and staff management
Providing customer service and delivering exceptional hospitality each and every day.
Managing departments and teams
Regular Staff training and supervision of staff members
Scheduling and overseeing maintenance and repairs in individual rooms and common areas
Working with inspectors to ensure the facility meets all requirements
Hotel Manager Skills and Qualifications

The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, able to think clearly and make quick decisions whilst having a professional manner and a calm, rational approach
You must have a track record in success and innovation, with the ability to make things happen
Attention to detail is essential, ensure standards are high and the service is exceptional
Have excellent communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills
Able to effectively prioritise and balance guest expectations with business priorities
Able to produce reports clearly and logically to a high standard, having numeracy, logistical, and planning skills
You must have flexibility, a 'can do' mentality and a positive attitude
You should be able to motivate the team, set direction, and lead by example
Support departments when in shortfall.
