Salary:£20,709 to £25,058 per annum, depending on experience. Contributory pension scheme - club gives 5.25% as long as employee contributes at least 1% and we are keen to have all employees contribute at least 4% to meet future government targets. Share of tips from the bar and catering department. Uniforms supplied and laundered. Free Golf Club membership including members loyalty card.

Job description:

The Royal Dornoch Golf Club Championship Course is the 4th best Golf course in the world. We are situated in town Dornoch situated 40 miles north of Inverness.

As directed by the Food & Beverage Manager manage the day to day bar & catering operations of the Club ensuring that all the agreed performance and service levels are achieved. In conjunction with this, ensuring the image and traditions of the Club are being upheld and promoted within the area of responsibility.


Main Responsibilities:
• Provision of a welcoming, relaxed and efficient bar & waiting service to members and visitors during all operational hours.
• Assist in effective financial control of all aspects of the bar & catering provision to ensure assigned profitability targets are consistently achieved.
• Assist in ensuring that all bar & waiting staff and facilities comply with all relevant licensing, health & safety and hygiene legislation.
• Management and development of all bar & waiting staff to ensure optimum deployment of these resources.
• Identify potential developments and expansion of the service offered to improve overall profitability, increased utilisation of facilities and enhance the enjoyment of members and visitors. Subsequently instigate such activities as are endorsed by Management.
• Develop and maintain constructive and co-operative relationships with club officials, other managers and departments to ensure the highest possible levels of service are provided thus enhancing the reputation of the Club and the overall “Royal Dornoch Experience”.
• To carry out all other reasonable instructions emanating from club management.

Required Standards:
Expansive knowledge and understanding of all legislation impacting on the catering provision e.g. licensing, health & safety and hygiene etc.
