| Job description: | This historic golf club with a strong membership base is looking for either a Steward to act as bar manager, and a Head Chef to come in with good control, or someone to take over the kitchen as a franchisee. The Steward should be confident in managing a bar on the day to day, and leading the front of house team by example. You should be engaging with the members and collaborative with the management team. Stock management, Cellar management and a good understanding of rota organization will be required, but this is a welcoming and enjoyable environment with excellent support and staff retention. For the Chef or management couple, there's an excellent local customer base and scope to develop the kitchen into a highly profitable operation, with an understanding and supportive management team in place. They're looking for someone with a great understanding of business and a willingness to drive the operation forward. The current Head Chef is leaving after a tenure of 20 years and so you should have demonstrable longevity and a desire to create something that you can nurture in the long term. You'll have full control over ordering and will take 100% of the kitchen's income, with an understanding that you'll assist with developing the beverage operation with the incoming steward/bar manager to aid in the generation of additional income for the club. This would be a great opportunity for a couple or friends to come in and work together to develop all aspects of the F&B operation. The club is volunteer run, warm and welcoming. You'll become a part of the team in no time and they're offering an excellent accommodation with it's own gardens as part of the package. Non working partners and dependants are also welcome in the accommodation as they're keen for it to be seen as a long term benefit and not just a transient space. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me. |
