Job description:

The Ferry Inn and the Royal Hotel in Stromness on the beautiful island of Orkney.
Seasonal positions working with some great local produce including super fresh seafood.
Established family run operation. Great team. Sensible hours/shifts. Opportunity to work with great local produce while working in a beautiful location - the historic harbour town of Stromness.

We are looking for a Breakfast and lunch Chef for The Ferry Inn whilst partner/friend would work Front of house/house keeping in the Royal Hotel. So similar hours but not working together.

Award winning family business running busy seasonal restaurants in the historic harbour town of Stromness in the beautiful Orkney Islands at the Ferry Inn and Royal Hotel .

Wage by negotiation depending on skill, experience and potential contribution to business.

All worked hours paid. Share of tips and end of season bonus. Accommodation available (offsite but nearby) and meals provided while on duty.

Quality local produce across a la carte, top notch pub and casual outdoor dining meus.

Breakfast through lunch - which can involve a seafood catering van on bonny days

The positions are available late April to Early October

Job description:

We are currently recruiting for a Breakfast Chef to work as part of the kitchen brigade in our 108 bedroom 3 star hotel.

The Breakfast Chef will ensuring that the highest standards are maintained at all times & assist the senior Chefs in the preparation and service of food.

Hours will be usually be 06:00 - 14:00
5 days over 7
Will usually involve Weekends

The Person

The ideal Breakfast Chef will have the following:

Experience in a high volume kitchen,
High standards of cleanliness, stock control, and work prioritisation.
A true passion for food and have the enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
Have a understanding of health & safety and food safety guidelines within the kitchen.
Possess a willingness to work to high standards consistently
The hotel is located 3 miles outside Shap village, having reliable means of transport to this area is beneficial.
