Days:5 out of 7 days - mixed shifts
Holidays:Statutory (28 days p/a)

Full-time chefs:15 plus kitchen porters

Job description:

This opportunity is at Fonab Castle Hotel & Spa, Pitlochry, Perthshire. Nestled in the picturesque Scottish Highlands, Fonab Castle boasts luxurious rooms, scenic views, a Spa, function suite and two restaurants.

With 42 bedrooms, each individually designed room has been decorated sympathetically to blend a contemporary style with the original room features with views of the Loch Faskally or of the Highlands’ landscape.

Fonab Castle Hotel has 2 on-site restaurants, the Fonab Brasserie offering a la carte meals and the Sandeman’s Fine Dining Restaurant for a sophisticated dining experience.

We are currently recruiting for a Head Chef to join our highly successful Team. Based in modern and contemporary surroundings you will be required to contribute to the hotel’s success. You should have a warm, personable nature, can do attitude and eye for details.
You will know and understand what it means to deliver amazing hospitality and will thrive on the challenge of always exceeding guest’s expectations. You will be expected to achieve a level of service through the constant monitoring of our established brand standards. As a result, you should be highly attentive to detail and be capable of delivering consistent standards.

We are looking for a Head Chef to take charge of our team. You will take control of all aspects of the day to day running of the kitchen including cooking, ordering, menu planning, health and hygiene.
There is a friendly stable team working to a high standard in a well-equipped kitchen using fantastic local produce including herbs grown in our own garden.

Job Skills Essential
• Previous experience at top 4 or 5 star
• Previous experience in a luxury hospitality environment
• Passion for cooking and minimum of 2/3 Rosette standard for Head and Sous Chef
• Ability to work flexible hours including early, late, weekends and nights
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Able to deal with changing priorities and work demands
• Advance English language speaker
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills are required;
• A person who easily connects with others and can live up to our mission statement: Inspiring our guests through individuality and passion!
