Alfa Leisureplex Group has an opportunity for a Head Chef to join our team based at Selbourne Hotel, Dunoon.

About the Job
As a Head Chef you will be required to work circa 42 hours per week, usually over 5 days and usually with split shifts including breakfast and dinner service. The salary for this role is £26,000 - £30,000 per annum.
There will be the option to live in the Hotel if required.
The primary role of the Head Chef will be to offer table d’hote menu on a 7 day cycle system. This means the menu is repeated each week making the majority of starters, mains and sweets in-house using as much fresh produce as is available. You will work with suppliers that are already in place, and be responsible for the budget control and hygiene standards.
As a Head Chef you will be responsible for a small kitchen team to ensure they are trained to the required standard, and your role will include producing rotas along with kitchen administration. You will also have responsibility for temperature control records, cleaning schedules and other related company administration documents. Your role will also include tasks such as a weekly stock take, food ordering and stores security.

The ideal candidate
• Previous experience in a similar role within the kitchen
• High level of food hygiene and health and safety knowledge
• Stock rotation, labelling and cost control experience
• A passion for food by delivering consistency
• Ambition to lead and support others
• Have a positive can do attitude
