Job description:

We are looking for an experienced and qualified Head Chef to run our busy multifunctional kitchen.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a chef to join our team. We are a small independent family business looking for an enthusiastic chef to lead a small team and to help to continue to grow the business.

The Cocoabean Company is a visitor attraction, wedding/events venue and chocolate factory based in Dumfries & Galloway. We are looking for a versatile chef to produce food tailored to our visitor attraction as well as our wedding and events venue

You might already be a Head Chef or a Sous Chef looking to step up into the next stage of your career.

You could have experience in hotels, restaurants, corporate catering, or gastro pubs.

As Head Chef your responsibilities are:
• Management of the Kitchen
• Menu development and costing
• Motivating, coaching and developing the team
• Ensuring excellent levels of communication between the team
including management
• Ensuring high food quality is maintained
• Ensuring all health & safety standards are adhered to
• Managing stock control and food GP
• Accountable for maintaining, ordering and controlling food stocks
within budget
• Leading, directing and controlling the food preparation process.
• Hands on approach

Skills and Experience Required:
• Previous experience as Head Chef or Sous Chef
• Possess strong leadership qualities
• Communicate effectively at all levels
• Genuine interest in delighting customers.
• Great organisations skills.
• Friendly and able to contribute to the 'nice place to work' atmosphere.
• Enthusiasm for what you do with a can-do attitude
• Monitor and maintain hygiene standards and procedures
• Excellent people management skills
• A team player with a sense of fun and a focus on high quality service.
• Attention to detail.
