The award-winning Boathouse Restaurant is family owned and situated on the beautiful island of Gigha, just off the West coast of Scotland

Gigha is one of the most beautiful of the Hebridean Islands and is approximately 2.5 hours from Glasgow and a short 20 min ferry crossing to which you are greeted by stunning beaches, the most crystal clear blue waters and most stunning scenery.

We are looking for a high quality head chef to start approximately the middle of July in this busy but friendly, close knit team.

Unsure how long this position will be for at the moment.

you will be responsible for all aspects of running a kitchen, ordering, menu planning, cooking and all aspects of health and hygiene.

We use lots of fresh local produce (emphasis on seafood) and make everything from scratch every day including our own breads.


A well established business with a good reputation for food in the area.

This is a rural but lovely place to spend the summer season.

Salary:£35,000 per year, negotiable, paid monthly £28,000 for manager position with share of weekly tips and bonus scheme to be put on place based on turnover, gross profit margins, wages ration, customer satisfaction, health and cleanliness

Job description:

I am looking for a strong head chef and potentially a manager to take over the day to day running of a very busy and popular Italian Restaurant in Edinburgh and Lothian.

Working in a very friendly environment, the restaurant has a good and busy trade and is very popular.

You will be a strong all rounder who can get good profit margins and look after all other aspects including menu management, ordering, rotas, health and hygiene, cooking.

Ideally a couple who can run the business with a view to taking on the business.

All chef whites supplied and laundered.

The restaurant also has a very popular cocktail bar.

The manager will look after all aspects of front of house and be hands on.

This may suit a couple, although I can look at head chef candidates on their own.

This is a large venue and should continue to do well post lockdown.
