Job description:

We are seeking a chef de partie or experienced commis chef to join our established team of chefs. Working with fresh ingredients preparing a range of classic and speciality dishes for our busy Lake District hotel and bar. In addition to our main menus our brigade also offers a daily specials menu, so someone with ideas of their own who can have input to menus would be a bonus.

This is a full time permanent role. The role is salaried for 40 hours starting at £23,920 and up dependant on skills and experience this this will be reviewed after a 3 month trial period, For any hours worked over 40 each week we will pay you at your hourly rate. we will provide free accommodation this consist of a double room with own private bathroom and 2 meals a day regardless if you are on shift or not, this will give you a great opportunity to earn a good wage all year round and live in one of the most picturesque areas of the country. You will also have the chance to work with an excellent, established brigade of pro active chefs, in a pretty well equipped kitchen.

This can be a hard job spinning several plates at once so we ideally need someone with experience who can operate on their own initiative and take charge of their assigned section in the kitchen. A lot of our team both front and back of house have decided to stick with us for several years and have in doing so advanced themselves through the ranks of the hotel. With this in mind we are looking for someone who is looking to be here for the long haul.

- Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and portion sizes
- Ensure food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality standards
- Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures
- Assist with meal preparation and kitchen clean-up as needed
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create new dishes and menu items
- Maintain a clean and organized work station

- Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
