| Job description: | Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety are maintained. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your culinary skills within a professional kitchen environment, contributing to the overall dining experience of our guests. The position is suitable for individuals with a passion for food preparation and cooking. Tips are shared with the kitchen team. Responsibilities Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items according to recipes and standards Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen equipment Support the team in meal assembly, plating, and presentation Follow health and safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe working environment Collaborate with other kitchen staff to deliver efficient service during busy periods Assist in stock control, including receiving deliveries and storing ingredients appropriately Contribute ideas for menu development and presentation enhancements Skills Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen setting Strong understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team Knowledge of meal preparation techniques across various cuisines is desirable Previous restaurant or catering experience is necessary Ability to serve guests courteously when required during service periods Experience in a fast paced restaurant environment This role provides an excellent platform for aspiring chefs eager to refine their culinary expertise within a vibrant hospitality environment.
